Anyone have any book recs that are about the history of CBT? Kind of outlining the different schools of thought within CBT and more about theory vs. a practical guide on how to conduct CBT. I've read things like this for psychodynamic therapy, but not yet for CBT.

There are about a million books and articles for this to be honest. I guess one of the most comprehensive is Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy: Basic Principles and Applications by Robert Leahy.

Yes, Leahy has a good one. Cognitive Therapy Basics and Beyond by Judith Beck is good in depth theory.

Also, Learning Cognitive-Behavior Therapy- an illustrated guide by Wright, Basco, and Thase is a good guide that comes with a DVD
