I have the opportunity to attend CE classes almost every month... would this be worth my time? Would it be beneficial to my application to have say 20+ hours of CE classes? Or is it really trivial for a pre-dent to be engaged in CE?

Thanks in advance!!

Okay, now I have to ask...how did you get that kinda thing going? :) Even if it's worthless on applications, I would love to check out some CE!

Family friends with both an OMFS and Endo... They both teach/organize CE seminars. They said they would comp my admission if i wanted to come to them. Basically i got lucky... if you wanted to get involved i would just get to know a kick a s s specialist.

What you need is "kick a s s" stats rather than specialist. Attending dental CE courses in os/endo would be about as beneficial as taking DAT review courses that are presented in Chinese.

Always appreciate your posts doc... thanks.

I am a non trad applicant, I have a BSx2 in Finance and Economics, and have been in banking for the past 3 years. I graduated with a GPA of 3.78 and am going back taking my pre reqs, getting ready for the DAT this summer. I literally already have 700+ hours community service and about 200 hours of shadowing. I currently volunteer dental asst at a public health clinic once a week. So as far as building my EC's I really just don't know what to do anymore, so i thought maybe CE courses might be a good thing!

But if i wouldn't understand it... then it would probably be a waste of time! Thanks again!

Contrary to popular belief, EC's are not what gets you accepted nor are they what will keep you in ds once accepted. In your case it is a no brainer-concentrate on you courses and dat.
