Cellular Phone Service in the Caribs.

For those attending Carib. vet schools, my question to you is: What mobile phone service from the States do you have because I am planning to attend a carib. vet school, as well as having a cell phone from the states. I'm wondering which one provides the best service, has coverage into the islands, and has low roaming charges....I prefer having a phone from the States to use in the Caribs. so I'd have a local phone # for friends/family to call me on and so I'd have a phone for when I come back home to the States during school breaks.
