Certified Laser Technician

Just curious what qualifies someone as a certified laser technician. In my area, there is a day spa that does all sorts of laser procedures that I thought were reserved for board certified dermatologists (tattoo removal, hair removal, facial resurfacing, etc). The spa boasts 7 lasers all run by certified laser technicians. However, not only is there no dermatologist at the spa, there is no doctor or even PA. Nevertheless, they charge the same prices for their services as a dermatologist would.

There are schools that give that "certification". You can google it. Doesn't take much to get.
Whether a doctor needs to be on-site or just as an acting "medical director" depends which state the practice is in.
