Hi everyone,

I am in desperate need of help with my school list.

cGPA 3.65 / sGPA 3.55
MCAT 33 (11s across the board)

-Non trad NC resident (no ties to other states)
-2 years ED scribe full time
-College athlete for 2 years
-2 poster presentations (no pubs)
-100 hours community service volunteering over the past few years.
-A handful of other standard ECs

Updated Potential school list:
Duke
Wake Forest
UNC
ECU
University of Virginia
Eastern Virginia
Virginia Commonwealth
Jefferson
Temple
BU
Tufts
Vandy (worth it?)
University of Tennessee
Emory
VA Tech

Trying to stay somewhat on the east coast. SC, GA, FL, TN are all brutal for out of state applicants so I am having a hard time with this.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

UMiami had a decent OOS matriculation rate last time I looked.
Virginia Tech? (You didn't really say how much research you've got.)
UMaryland?

Love the VA Tech addition, thanks. Haven't even considered Miami until now, I'll take a look at their program. Thanks for the suggestions!

As for research, the poster presentations were just semester long group projects essentially. Not bench research, I haven't done any of that. But I have a good amount of leadership ECs like head of the orientation committee while I was in undergrad.

Edit: UMaryland, too! Thanks for that.

Does anyone else have any ideas? Or is my list a good bet?

Thanks!

Only 11 OOS matriculates at the U of TN seems low yield.

Yeah, I wasn't sure how much of a hail mary I should go for with U of TN. It's just close by so I threw it on the preliminary list.

Does my list include schools at which I have a decent shot of receiving an interview? I've seen you do something similar with other posters and I am curious...I don't want this to be too much of a shot in the dark!

I count 10 where you have a fair to good chance of an interview. That's usually enough.

Goro suggests:

Duke
Wake Forest
UNC
ECU
Eastern Virginia
Virginia Commonwealth
Jefferson
Temple
Tufts
Emory
VA Tech
Penn State
Drexel
U Miami
All the new FL schools.
CampbellCom (it's in your backyard))
VCOM
VCOM-SC
PCOM
PCOM-GA
