Hi,

So I have been noticing that a number of medpeds programs require chair's letters from either the dept. of medicine or peds or both. Is getting an attending's letter co-signed by the department chair enough or should it be a letter solely from the dept. head?

The reason that I am asking is that I currently have my letter co-signed by the head of my particular medicine floor and my attending, rather than the actual chair of medicine at my school. Will this be okay for residency programs?

Thanks so much for any advice.

It would behoove you to have a separate letter from the Chair. This is better that a letter they co-signed as it would hold much more weight.
