chances...30mcat, 3.79BA, 3.73MS

graduated undergrad in 2008 with international business, finished the pre-reqs and applied 2 years ago to MD only, and didn't get in....decided to get a Master's of Science degree from columbia university, grad gpa- 3.73 and re-applying currently. i am a new york resident, and want to stay in the area. will be also applying DO this round too, but want to know chances for NY schools.
Extracur. are good, plenty of clinical/research/volunteer experience and currently doing research at the obesity research center in nyc.

any thoughts are highly appreciated!

You have a good shot at some of the NY schools (NYMC, SUNY at Buffalo, Stony Brook, Albany, Hofstra etc..)... You will be a sh00-in for DO... It's a good thing that you are adding some DO as back up. I would apply to TCMC and Quinnipiac as well.
