So excited to post one of these! Also, hoping to finalize my school list by Friday and spend my weekend on secondaries. Verified last week.

Numbers:
cGPA: 3.71
sGPA 3.74
Somewhat middling HS dual-enrollment/freshman/sophomore years followed by a fairly consistent 3.8+ junior/senior/postbacc ride.

MCAT: 33 (8 :scared:, 13, 12)
Undergrad major: Liberal Arts, philosophy and math/classics concentrations

EC's:

Worked a fair amount in undergrad, averaging 15 hrs/week.

Leadership: President of a social/arts club, some interesting stories about leadership lessons and why the club was important.

TA two years herding other liberal arts majors in bio and physics labs.

Research: 2 research experiences during undergrad (a couple of benevolent souls let me work in their labs as a summer student, despite my minimal classroom science training)

2.5 years postbacc research, half clinical, half bench, 1.5 pubs (one of them is accepted pending my PI returning it with the changes I made). The pub that is in the books is first-author. :)

Volunteering: 40 hours non-clinical volunteering, assorted experiences
130 hours in a quiet emergency department, restocking rooms and transporting patients.
40 hours in a sliding-scale clinic, with a more active role performing a diagnostic test.

40 hours shadowing, including ICU, pulmonary specialists, radiologists

Social/Biographic: I took my prerequisites starting a year after graduating, while doing full-time research. I did 3/8 core required courses at CC, basically because of money/scheduling concerns, but took upper-levels at a 4 year.

Family was E01 SES-disadvantaged/using WIC when I was a small child; one parent has since graduated from college and we are doing considerably better, no longer considered disadvantaged or even eligible for FAP, since I am working full-time. White, marginally middle-class, over-educated.

Red Flags: One C- on my app. Decided to take only the second half of a science course as a visiting summer student, went over like a lead balloon.

School list: Aiming for 15 schools. I know that is pretty minimal.

Verified my app using Commonwealth Medical College as a placeholder, still debating submitting secondary. Family in the area...it is actually the closest school to my hometown, and an adult sibling settled just down the road. However, I have turned into a city girl and am not sure how I feel about the limited research opportunities.

In-state school: University of Maryland

Other potential schools:

Georgetown
GW
VT Carillon
Temple
Drexel
BU
Tulane
Tufts
Thomas Jefferson University
NYMC
Rosalind Franklin
Rush

Far Reaches:
Emory
Case Western
Brown -- I am not sure how much higher their stats are outside of the linkage program, but I get the sense I would fit in particularly well
Pritzker -- I honestly don't think I have a chance, do you?

I know GW and Georgetown get tossed off these lists a lot, but they are among my top choices, except for their cost, mostly due to location/research opportunities within my stats range.

Suggestions for additions/deletions?
Comments on school culture/friendliness to someone with my background would be very appreciated.

You and I have pretty similar stats/experiences. I initially got some love from Rochester, and was accepted by Temple and Jeff. All three schools seem to dig p-bacs and research.

Hey, just an update that I have submitted a secondary to Jeff and have my primary submitted at UMD, Temple, Georgetown, Brown, VCU, and TCMC.
However, I noticed that a number of schools in their application materials suggest an 8 or below in PS or BS is considered 'uncompetitive.' My 8 was in PS. Am I likely to be auto-screened out at schools that are otherwise achievable with a 3.7/33?
I am finalizing schools to add and am wondering whether I need to skew to the lower end due to my piss-poor performance in PS. :(

I don't know if any schools will auto-reject with an 8, but I doubt it. Your 13/12 in the other two show that it's either a fluke or you're just not very strong in physics/general chemistry, which shouldn't be much of a concern since you showed you're excellent with bio/orgo and verbal. I think you're looking fine.

I took both sections of Gchem as summer classes at a CC, due to time/money constraints, and it was 2 years ago, so I needed more review there. Honestly, though, I simply needed to put more time into memorizing equations, and my final MCAT prep was curtailed by a much-needed temp job that had me working 60 hrs the week before the exam.

It is a long story, but I had planned my MCAT around having the whole month before the exam off and starting a new job the week after. Then my job offer fell through, and I spent most of my prep time scrambling to find employment. When an offer came in, I wasn't in a position to hold off until after the test, as I needed the money for applications. I feel like I shot myself in the foot, as a little bit more content review could have easily had me at a nice round 35 with 10's in each section.

I am really proud of the BS score, through. :)
