Hey guys,

I am long time roamer on this forum but dont really post. But I just received my comlex scores today and received a 498 on part 1, which is almost about avg considering the mean is 500? So I was just wondering what are my chances in getting a good residency spot for Internal Medicine.

I got a 209 on USMLE which is pretty bad, so should I even take Step 2 or are my chances for allopathic IM not good. I'm just considering going the DO route and I'll probably have a better chance for IM that way. What do you guys think??? So is 498 good enough to land me a decent IM spot??? I know compared to ppl on these forums, that's probably a horrible score but maybe someone could shed some light?? I feel crappy but hopefully my chances aren't ruined?!

I had similar scores and i'm doing allo IM.
take step 2 and do better than step 1.
my comlex scores were not as good as yours

do away rotations at a place u want to be but make sure u r ready for away rotation.

I had similar scores and i'm doing allo IM.
got interview at places i wanted to be which included places with lots of fellowships.
i applied mainly in southeast where there are very few DO residencies.

take step two early as you can and improve on your score. you should land something allopathic somewhere
