What would you compare it to? An Ochem final? Biochem final? SAT but 10x harder? etc etc

None of the above.

A test with its own scale. Easier than Orgo and biochem final, but under more strict time constraint.
I guess the fact that it is invloved with many different subjects and skills makes it look harder. It seems as you study for one subject, the other subjects are compromised and as you switch to other subjects you feel the other ones are neglected and the vicous circle continues untill you get tired and go take the test.

If you want to get a very close feel about it, do one of the sample tests and you will get a feel for it.

I'd say a little easier than most college finals, but under a time constraint. On DAT Bio was easier, OC easier, and GC were all easier than college finals, but VERY broad in their scope, making you study much more material.
It is definitely 10Xs harder than the SAT, especially math. Imagine taking the last 2 problems from each SAT math section and putting all 40 into the test, and then giving yourself half as much time to do them. That is the QR portion.

comparing apples to oranges.........

DAT has questions from stupid basic to challenging questions. on top, its timed, on top, it tests you on multiple subjects....

The DAT isn't really as hard as people make it sound like. It's a very doable exam, provided that you have put in the necessary time and effort and you have used the proper resources for studying.
