I'm looking to email a faculty member I met with in person years ago (and anyone some current students recommend contacting). I'm going to mention meeting them previously, and state that I'm looking to apply to their school again. Hopefully they will respond wanting to see my credentials, but should I ask initially if they would review them? Would it just be better to skip that and ask if I could meet them in person again in the near future? What else might be a good thing to say to build this connection?

If you are close to the school, I would try to arrange an in-person meeting if their schedule permits. I would ask them what advice they could offer and ask about any special opportunities that school might have (such as internships, summer programs, volunteer clinics). If you show interest and improvement, I think they would likely offer some great help getting into their program.
