Hello,
My major doesnt require the "bio 2" course here, and we instead take eukaryotic cell biology, microbio, anatomy, immunology, etc. after finishing bio 1. I'm trying to figure out what classes I need next year, so I emailed a few schools, and one school (U mich) said that any Bio/lab course would be okay, and that the Bio 2 course at my school was "expected and preferred, but not required". Would you say itd be the safer bet to just grind through the pain of bio 2 rather than taking a chance at trying to slide by with all my other biology requirements?

You're right in that most schools would take any upper division bio course that has a lab in replacement of bio 2, however to be on the safe side, you should probably take it. In the end, it's going to be one of the easier bio classes you're going to take and it's probably just going to boost your science GPA and overall GPA.
