Hey guys,

Im a Freshman in college and I'm registering for spring classes in December. As I am doing so, I'm also creating my freshman-senior schedule to make sure I complete my pre-reqs for graduating and dental school. As I fill in my slots, I realized that I have no room for any electives for a minor. Do pre-dental students usually have a minor? Is it beneficial? If I don't have a minor, does it hurt my chances?

I just have so many prereqs for graduating uni, that I have no time.

Thanks.

Not required at all! I got in just fine without a minor. Depending on your hopeful school location and desire, Spanish could be a good minor. Also business could be a good minor if you are pretty sure you want to go into private practice.

Like I said, not at all required, don't try and add a minor if you are already stressed and having a difficult time managing classes.

didnt someone ask this same question a week ago.... Come on people

No you don't, but if you're a biology major, a chemistry minor is only a few extra classes. Doesn't mean anything though.

If Yale doesnt offer minors, how do those student get into dental school?

I know sarcasm doesnt bode well over internets. But seriously ... no. Makes absolutely no difference whether you minor in anything or pick a concentration.

The way I see it, don't do something just so it looks good on your app, you'll be much better off, the only two exceptions to this rule are get good GPA and DAT.

Where I go for undergrad, Biochem was the only class I needed extra to get my chem minor
