Hello all, To any DO/PHD students OR DO students in general.
I was wondering what everyone's thoughts are about the burden associated with PHD coursework. I am deciding between two programs, one has minimal requirements and can be completed during year 1. While the other has many requirements and will likely bleed over into year 4-5.
Worth it? or should I stick with the clean and easy course load. I've heard from many a phd student that the courses just get in the way of research. But I do want a great/strong education. I feel I may be cheating myself some how, but perhaps that is a hang over from undergraduate thinking (more courses=stronger academic profile= more prepared etc.).
Maybe this conventional thinking doesn't apply at the graduate level?
Thanks!
