I was just accepted to Drexel and am torn between which school to choose. Any advice would be appreciated.

MSU pros:
- close to home
- More connections to Michigan residencies?
- Good reputation
- Strong clinical rotations/sites
- IS tuition

MSU cons:
- double the boards
- Take all the OMM extra classes
- May be harder to match in competitive specialties as a DO

Drexel pros:
- good match list last year
- Only have to take one set of boards
- Potentially less stigma as MD (unsure how much that matters these days)
- may leave more doors open for me in the future

Drexel cons:
- farther from home
- More expensive
- Question marks over rotations

Overall I feel like MD over DO is usually the obvious choice but given some controversy I’ve seen around drexel with the hospital and moving away from home/cost I’m having a hard time deciding for sure.

MSUCOM is a great school from what I hear. Don't know much about Drexel. You'll have to move away from home at some point so don't let that be a huge factor unless you cannot function without your support system. I say Drexel, especially if you want to keep options open in the future.

By all account, MSUCOM is a great DO school. But potentially having to take twice the amount of boards would deter me away from choosing DO over MD at Drexel. Plus MD will no doubt open up doors more so than would DO.
