EK 1001 for Organic Chemistry, #137, pg 16:

question-
"in the assignment of absolute configuration, what priority does the CHO group have in the structure shown below?"

it kinda looks like this:
CHO

h3C C Br

OH
now just imagine lines b/t C and the other 4 atoms lol...

ok, the way I assigned priority was the Br=#1, b/c the highest atomic #, then OH=#2, then the CHO=#3, then Ch3=#4.

But the answer they have was that CHO had priority #2, and the "explanation" was to refer to the previous q's reasoning . Seeing as I arrived at the right answer for the previous question and used the same reasoning in 137, I'm frustrated.

Someone tell me I'm not crazy and it's a misprint....Or, more importantly, correct my mistake b/c configuration is a strength of mine, and I don't really want to worry about it too much if I don't need to....
