Finding summer research without a home program

Hi guys, i'm an M1 that has been interested in rad onc primarily (heme onc 2nd choice) since I started my trek back to school to become a physician. My university doesn't have a home rad onc program and I know i'll need research and LORs to match so I was wondering what the best way to come up with relevant summer research would be over my M1 year?
