Remission without insulin therapy on gluten-free diet in a 6-year old boy with type 1 diabetes mellitus.

Having gotten overwhelmed with the holiday spirit this season, my gift to you will be to decline your kind offer so that those patients may stay right where they are.

Maybe gluten in opiates is causing all the problems we're having

I'm posting this one because they measured markers of inflammation (along with adiposity, body weight, glycemic markers, etc.).

http://www.jnutbio.com/article/S0955-2863(12)00226-4/abstract

"Our data support the beneficial effects of gluten-free diets in reducing adiposity gain, inflammation and insulin resistance. The data suggests that diet gluten exclusion should be tested as a new dietary approach to prevent the development of obesity and metabolic disorders."

This was a study of mice, so it's still early. But interesting since they were investigating gluten-free diet for reasons other than celiac disease.

As promised in post #9 above, I'm bumping this thread at the 2 year mark (yeah, iPhone calendar, your reminder worked!)

Okay facetguy, where'd you go? Do you still think epidurals have gluten in them?
