Right , so i've recently graduated with an MBBS Degree, however i've not done my internship yet. The university i graduated from is listed in the avicienna directory.

I'd like to know what are the requirements for internship in the US for international students? I've tried reading all over, at places i'd read that Step 1 , step 2 ck + cs , and step 3 is required for internship , others would say it's just step 1 and step 2 ck , and others would say USMLE is only required for residency and not internship.

Can someone give me an answer as to what actually are the requirements for foreign students to do the 1 year internship in the US?

imho you picked the worst country ever for 1 year internship... go for residency or do your specialist training at home (or anywhere else) and come back later as a specialist with some foundation exchange. as a foreigner and already graduated your chances to find such a spot are going to zero...

If by internship you mean the 1 year prelim and transitional residency, there is no point on doing those because it leads to nothing (you can't practice as a doctor with 1 year internship). Although in your own country it might be a resume booster. For those you need Step 1 and Step 2 CK and CS.

If you mean residency (3-7 years), you need Step 1 and Step 2 CK and CS as well, but if you get Step 3 you can apply for the H1B visa instead of the J1 which allows you to immigrate to the US after residency

If you mean an elective (4 weeks rotation in the specialty of choice), those only require Step 1 but you have to be in medical school to do those so you aren't eligible anymore since you graduated.
