so after your interview, can you get rejected or they just accept you or put you on the waiting list?

The question is do any schools reject you right after an interview or do they simply wait list you until the class is full.

whatt i'm asking is once you interview, do they just accept you or put you on the waiting list. what I mean could they just reject you instead of putting you under waiting list. is that an option? or whoever they are not interested automatically goes under waiting list.

usually you're just floating around in the adcom, not on any official wait list but not rejected either

Yes they can reject you right away, but it is not that common at most schools. You can also be put on hold, which is not put on the waitlist. So here are your options after your interview, and they vary at each school. Rejected < Hold < Waitlist < Accepted. Also you can be rejected before December 1st but you won't find out if your accepted or waitlisted until then.
