Hello,

I work for a translation company in the UK. We specialise in the translation of patient questionnaires and we are currently working on a project which involves the translation of a short questionnaire for breast cancer patients into Traditional Chinese (Hong Kong), Simplified Chinese (Singapore) and Malay (Singapore).

We have initially translated the text, but now we need to check the translation by carrying out some short interviews with breast cancer patients, where we ask them if the wording is easy to understand, whether they would suggest any changes and so on. We do not need any medical data from them, we just want their opinions on the wording in order for us to finalise our translation. The interviews would be expected to last no longer than 30 minutes each.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how we might be able to find 10 patients for each of the languages above, to test the translations? We have contacted clinicians in hospitals in Hong Kong and Singapore, but it seems like most people are too busy or they need to get ethical approval first which would take several months. We need to carry out the interviews as soon as possible and we do have linguistic experts who live in these countries who could carry out the interviews if necessary.

Therefore, we are looking for someone who could either just put us in contact with some people with breast cancer for the languages involved (the patients would need to be native speakers) or to carry out the interviews and send us the results (we can provide the instructions and reports for the interviews). We would reimburse you for your time spent helping us.

Would any of you perhaps be able to assist us, or know someone who can? If so, I'd be delighted to hear from you.

Many thanks!
