Sallie Mae is the only company I am aware of with worse customer service, and worse reviews, than Comcast. A quick internet search will prove this. Examples from Better Business Bureau, etc.

I think Senator Elizabeth Warren's been putting pressure on the government. Senator Warren is asking the government to require improvements from Sallie Mae or find a different company to service federal student loans. She may or may not need more politcal support to have success at this. Student groups, as well as, activist groups have been working on getting better service out of Sallie Mae. I still don't know if it will be enough. If you are having problems with Sallie Mae or if you are very dissatisfied with them either meet with your Senator, send your Senator a letter about your experience, or make phone call to register your opinion as a constituent.

Example of phone call to your Senator: "Hi, I'm calling to register my opinion as a constituent of Senator Jones." Them: "Okay, what is your opinion about, a bill, law?" You: "It's about student loans and Sallie Mae. I would like for the government to demand decent customer service from companies handling federal student loans." Or, "I would like Senator Jones to back Senator Warren..." Them: "Okay, give me your address, full name, and phone number." (They need to know that you really do live in their district.) Them, "All set. Thanks for calling." (They just entered your opinion in their constituent database. And people call about things like this all day long. It use to be my job to answer the phone in my Senator's office.) You: "You're welcome. Have a good day." Something like that.

Look up your Senator and Representative: http://www.opencongress.org/people/zipcodelookup

+1 for warren reference.

You make a good salary just to pay sally may. :p

She was good to me till I signed on the line that is dotted. Once that happened, she just slaps me around whenever she wants.

It's a bit of an abusive relationship, but I can't get out of it.

(I ain't sayin' she a gold digger...)

just wondering.
I've had a good experience, but the website is pretty terrible and applying for IBR/PAYE was frustrating. Seriously, print out a form, scan it back in?

#4 is relevant to Sallie Mae as is other information on that website: http://studentdebtcrisis.org/petitions/

Warning: They might add you to their email list so use an email where you wouldn't mind that, like a free yahoo or hotmail account.

Testimonials tab on that webpage has personal stories about student debt, many involve Sallie Mae, and the tab also provides a link where you can share your story anonymously or non-anonymously.
