How is this longitudinal research?

If a researcher is collecting and analyzing data from already existing notes from a previously done longitudinal study, does that mean that he is doing "longitudinal research" himself? I didn't get this question on Altius (pic attached). I figured since he's just using someone's else data to guide his research, that doesn't mean he's doing longitudinal research himself...?

It sounds like it's referring to the previously done study since that was the one cited so you may have misunderstood the question as referring to the whole passage? As you said the study has longitudinal in the name so it makes sense .
