How likely is it that on the DAT they will ask us something about Graham's Law of Diffusion and Effusion?

rate1/rate2 = √molar mass2/molar mass1 ???

Will the DAT actually ask us something like this?

id say know it, the DAT could be way more complicated than that.

I definitely remember getting Graham's and Hess's Laws...
Know it :thumbup:

If you know this equation, then it'll be easier for you to understand the logic behind both diffusion and effusion.

I would also know this equation instead for logical purposes (below):

V(rms) = sqrt (3RT/M)

M = molar mass of gas
R = 8.314 J/K mol
T = temperature
Vrms = speed (velocity to be technically correct but it's no biggy here)

Two things you can conceptually determine from this equation:

1) The larger the molar mass, the slower the effusion/diffusion.
2) Increasing T (temp) will increase V (speed)
