I know that the addition of HBr occurs anti markovnikov in the presence of a peroxide, however what happens with HCl, HF, and HI addition with a peroxide? I know this wont be anti markov, but will it even occur? if it occurs, I'm assuming its simply markovnivkov addition?

Regardless of the presence of peroxides, HCl and HI only give Markovnikov's products (something about the chain propagation steps being endothermic and thus leading to very slow reactions: courtsey owlnet.rice.edu). I don't think HF is even used in these reactions given its explosive nature.

Yeah. I agree with the above post. But don't worry, I doubt AAMC would try to trick you by giving you a reaction with HCl and peroxide. Nevertheless, only HBr + peroxide works to give anti-markovnikov add'n. And HF is never used.
