What is the hybridization of a nitrogen atom is it froms two sigma bonds and two pi bonds?

Choices are:
sp
sp2
sp3
sp3d
sp3d2

I would say sp. It has two double bonds. It also has a positive charge on it.
 
double bond= 2 sigma and 1 pi bond.
triple bond= 2 sigma and 2 pi bonds.

It would be sp hybridized

actually,

double bond = 1 sigma and 1 pi bond
trible bond = 1 sigma and 2 pi bond
single bond = 1 sigma

Correct. since there's two sigma bonds and two pi bonds, it's basically saying N makes two double bonds with two other atoms, which gives N a positive charge!
 
The answer is sp3 according to kaplan???? I originally thought it was sp2. Does anyone know why it could be sp3? Thanks!
 
2 double bonds would be sp
Like previous posters said, 2 sigma and 2 pi make up 2 double bonds so that is sp.

I am VERY interested to hear any explanation about how a Nitrogen with 2 double bonds (or 1 single+1 triple bond) can possibly be sp3 hybridized.
