Curious as to the length of your residency after your internship year. If you do an intership, then a GMO, then internal medicine/family practice residency, is the residency still three years or is it only two years (three with the internship year). I'm under the Navy HPSP scholarship. Thanks.

I don't know for a fact, but I can't imagine that it wouldn't still be two more years. Doing a GMO tour shouldn't erase your internship year, and general medicine is a total of three years pg.

Sledge is right, 2 years after GMO, 3 years total. A lot of Navy Docs get to train straight through for IM if they want, not a lot of demand from folks returning from the fleet so they take interns every year.
