With enthusiasm I am writing to announce another year of the Interventional Spine & Pain Medicine Fellowship Training Program through North American Spine and Pain. The Fellowship Program is committed to recruiting diverse physicians who have completed a residency in Anesthesiology, Physical Medicine & Rehab, and/or Neurology to meet the changing needs of our patient population. We aim to recruit candidates who demonstrate excellence in academics, leadership, and communication. The program comprises of a one-year outpatient clinical experience designed to solidify fundamentals of evidence-based comprehensive interventional Spine & Pain programs. We strive to create an environment which encourages trainees to become advanced interventional specialists and effective lifelong learners who can thrive, teach, and lead in all areas of pain medicine.

North American Spine & Pain is a growing organization with a team of doctors and professionals devoted to the art of multi-modal care: diagnosing, managing, and treating a diverse array of pain conditions and neurological disorders. We also aim to go above and beyond by not only treating pain but by improving our patient’s quality of life and functionality.

At this time, we are reaching out to your residency program for recommendations and curriculum vitaes of physicians that you see as potential candidates for our Fellowship Training Program.

Please reach out to me with any questions at [email protected].

Sincerely,

AJ Rastogi, M.D.
Co-Founder & CEO
North American Spine & Pain

A note from Dr. Kovosh Dastan (Pain Fellow 2022-2023):

I chose North American Spine and Pain for my Fellowship in Interventional Spine and Pain because of the unique experience it provides. The Program Directors, Dr. Rastogi and Dr. Slevin, have great interest in teaching, and working alongside them, I have learned a tremendous amount. They have allowed me to demonstrate graduated autonomy while giving me supervision as needed by always being available. The Fellowship offers a real-world experience of working in a multimodal pain clinic that includes multiple specialties including Physiatry, Psychiatry, Anesthesiology, Addiction, Orthopedics, Prosthetics and Orthotics. As the single Pain Fellow in the program, I have been able to get my hands on about 10+ procedures a day. Fellowship also provides time in the ASC where you are able to perform more advanced procedures including, but not limited to, Kyphoplasty, Endoscopic Discectomy, SI Joint Fusion, MILD, SCS, DRG and Vertiflex. This experience has also given me the opportunity to work with medical and pre-medical students on research projects. Working with Dr. Rastogi and Dr. Slevin at North American Spine and Pain has allowed me to gain clinical acumen, build my procedural skills while giving me an invaluable insight on running a successful pain practice including leadership, management, and billing.
