Interview season coming up, what is the way to communicate interest to programs?

As an MS4 in this upcoming cycle, should I be reaching out to specific programs that I know I am interested in now? Or should I wait until after I submit my ERAS application later in the month? Should I do neither? I've been going through programs systematically and have written down the reasons I want to go to the ones I am impressed by. I don't want to let any opportunity go wasted on me, but I know this whole system is a process, and I'm doing my best to trust it. What do you all recommend?
