I agree. I was only listing post-grad careers and professions. One can earn an RN through an undergraduate degree, but I agree that nurses are the principle and most essential health care providers.
I find that somewhat irrelevant because no dentist does endo, ortho, prostho, and OMS. Every pod, does everything (for the most part).
Endos only do root canals, orthos slap braces on people, etc etc. All pods do biomechanics, surgery, pathology, orthopedics, dermatology, neurology, phlebiology, orthotics and more!

Yep, in the military we have comprehensive dentistry as a specialty, which is really a broadly trained general dentist, and does perform a wide variety of procedures from all the specialties you mentioned.

I would say the vast majority of general dentists do root canals, much fewer do braces, and even fewer extract impacted teeth. I suppose there may be someone out there doing all of these in their practice. There is certainly the opportunity to do whatever you want as long as you are properly trained and capable. I have never heard of a general dentist doing orthognathic surgery. I don't know if that is even possible without doing an advanced residency (specialty) program. Maybe in some third world country?!
