All Branch Topic (ABT) Is it true that all branches are over capacity

And that they will probably not be taking on any direct accessions for general dentists in the future? I'm asking specifically in regards to the ARMY, but am also interested in other branches to see whether it is worth applying to them if I cannot get a spot in the Army (which is looking less and less likely as they are looking to reduce dentists).

Timing more than anything. If there is an open slot, and you apply, and you are fully qualified...you would be competitive for the position.

Competitiveness is going to be driven by dental school performance and additional training (AEGD, GPR, etc.) As Airborne Dentist stated, timeliness of the application is key.
