Hello everyone,

I am worried about choosing the date of when to take the new MCAT exam. I originally planned to take the MCAT during May but there are no seats available near me. Are there any negatives to taking the exam this late and will it affect my chance in rolling admissions?

Will my chances be hurt applying with the AMCAS as well?

I am concerned as I did horribly on the old MCAT, and want to send my new score in so I will not get judged only on the basis of my first score.

Thanks

It will likely hurt your TMDSAS app. Scores are taking a longer time to come out with this test, meaning it'll take 45 days just to get your score back. AMCAS won't be hurt as bad because they have a less "rushed" timeline. Not to say a June MCAT would be a deal breaker, but it will set you behind those who submit in May.

darn alright, I was afraid so. I guess I will have to try to find a spot in May :/
