In medical school, is there a mandatory community service requirement? I know as a premed, there is hidden requirement.

Rush is the only medical school I can think of that has mandatory community service

I meant, in medical school. Not to get into medical school.

Many med schools require students to do community service, but the requirements are like 30hrs/yr during pre-clinical. It isn't a lot

(And the service you can do as a med student can actually be useful for learning clinical skills, so it is beneficial for both parties involved as opposed to pre-med volunteering where we are normally just in the way)

My school doesn't but most people find some way of giving back to the community because they like doing so

If you subscribe to MSAR, it will tell you which schools require community service.

No requirement because most people do it because we're going into a profession to help people
