Nodes on phylogenetic trees can be flipped. The two species in question are sister taxa extending from the same node. According to the figure, they are the same genetic distance from the ancestor.
But CA has a more recent common ancestor with CF than it does with PR. Why wouldn't that mean that CA and CF are more closely related than CA and PR. I'd expect CA and PR to maybe be phenotypically more similar but genotype depends more on how recent the common ancestors are, no?
I have to agree with baso. Answer D sound really good as well. But between C and D, obviously we'll pick C because it's the most obvious unrefutable answer imo
