by definition absorption is from one place to another, and in this case is from the lumen to the epithelial cell and then to the interstitial fluid which is continuous with the blood. For this question, the passage tells you that passive osmosis only occurs from a hypotonic solution to a hypertonic one, and the question tells you to assume that all absorption is passive, so regardless of the effect of oubain the answer should be B.
