Im finishing my prelim medicine year and was looking into my neuro program's website for recs on books, articles to read up on for preparation and found nothing.

I propose a new sticky in which articles we all should read and know, such as CHARISMA and SPARKL, are posted.

Im not trying to create online journal club, although some discussion would be constructive; just a listing of must read articles and/or books for those of us going into neuro.

Optic Neuritis Treatment Trial (ONTT):
N Engl J Med 1992 Feb 27;326(9):581-88

...also, read the follow-up studies such as:
N Engl J Med. 1993 Dec 9;329(24):1764-9.

Summary: Short-course, high-dose IV steroids good for ON and MS progression. Oral steroids actually increased the incidence of ON in either eye.

I am assuming we would be more interested in clinical studies? Any interest in more basic science papers that have translational merit?
