Letters of Recommendation?

I am confused... when colleges say they need letters of recommendation do they mean the evaluation forms that are part of the supplemental app. or are the letters different from the forms.

You'll have to check with each school. Many have forms that they want your recommenders to fill out and return to them. Others will allow a free-form letter.
