Hi. Does anyone use lidocaine 1% for spinal for a hip arthroplasty? If so, what position do you place the patient in after placement of the spinal? The case will be done in lateral position. I was wondering if I should place the patient in the supine position for about 5 minutes prior to having them lateral for the surgery. For the spinal to take effect (its basically isobaric I believe).

1% lidocaine??? Probably will wear off by the time you make the incision 😬

this would probably be better in the anesthesia forum.
