I'm reviewing some residency questions and wondering how people approach this question. Is it always a patient encounter that you've had? I was involved with student government, and could talk about that, but don't want to come off as self-centered.

Alternatively, can you say "my sub-I" with a detailed explanation and not sound too cliche?

Patient interaction. Sell yourself as compassionate, engaging, self motivated as a learner. I didn't get this question but I talk to my patients who have diseases that I don't know much about so that I can learn what challenges etc they have. It's generally good practice especially with stuff like MS, DMD, etc. Just say that someone touched you and it changed how you approach patients. No one cares about student govt.

Old lady dying & you have to navigate through family discussion....they always have a boner for that type of situation
