Hi guys. Can you guys recommend any good and reliable malpractice insurance for psychiatry? Thanks.

Depending on where you practice, there might only be 1 or 2 companies offering services anyway.

I don't know if this program is any better or worse than others. I've gotten together with other psychiatrists, we've talked about it, and the only real things we could find differences on were the price of the insurance. Not any of us were yet sued for malpractice.

Another factor is that I worked in a facility where the state covered your insurance, so I didn't have many psychiatrists I could ask regarding insurance who had a lot of experience.

I'll try to look into this more because I need to know this for myself.
 
which is more favorable for psychiatrists: occurrence or claims-based with tail coverage?

or does it really matter, as long as you have some form of malpractice coverage?
