Hi everybody I’m a 2LT starting med school next week, just had a quick question about the MGIB-SR. As an officer do I have to agree to an additional service obligation? Online the requirements are as follows
“ one of these must be true. You:
-have a 6 year service obligation in the selected reserve OR
- are an officer in the selected reserve and you agreed to serve 6 years in addition to you initial service obligation”
I currently have roughly 7 years remaining in the guard from commissioning through Rotc, would I have to add 6 years on to this. If so could that be paid back by years use HPLRP? I would like to do 20 years in the Guard but want to find the best way to minimize my medical education debt. Thanks in advance!
