Anyone see the National Geographic article on Military Medicine??

I gave it a quick once over, but overall, its a Hoorah look how modern and well we are doing. They do give credit to better body armor, and quicker transport as the reasons for higher survival, but they do make mistakes in stating that they have the most modern equipment, and the most well trained force of trauma surgeons.

They profile after care, and how it seems to have alot of drawbacks.

Overall, not a very critical article at all. Wonder if they would have been allowed to publish the fact that hardly any of the deployed surgeons practice trauma on a regular basis, and that some of them did a 30 day stint as second year residents and are considered up to date??

NG is a photographic travelogue; it has never been known for its incisive and critical views of any of the places it features.
