need an opinion

my spouse has enrolled in the match this year, to switch from one specialty to another. we are very nervous about his prospects, given that he will have had 2 years prior training and won't be fresh out of med school. also, we just don't know how competitive his record will be.

here are the facts, what do you all think?
usmle 234 + 237
3rd year grades, some A, but a B in Peds and Medicine (these grades concern us the most)
top 1/3 of med school class
letters of rec from EM docs and his current program director

he has applied to 22 programs. so far received one rejection. no invites yet.

what is the EM scene really like right now?

any insights will be greatly appreciated

Heya, he should be fine. Most of the invites go out once the Dean's Letter is out... so just hang tight for a few more weeks. On paper, atleast, he looks great... I would be jealous! EM is competitive, but not impossible. But who am I to speak I am still waiting for my first interview.
