Need info. on maxillofacial surgeon

Im thinking about going into DentaL Medicine and and was curious about this thing where u can do a 5 yr residency to become a maxillofacial surgeon and get your MD.

Could someone please explain this thing to me.

It's just like you said. After dental school you do an oral surgery residency. There are two 5-year programs but most are either 4- or 6-years. The 6-year programs give you an MD after about 2 years of med school.
