Hello everyone i am looking for some opinions on my chances. My grades are on the lower side that is my concern. Will my 29 MCAT suffice? anyone have stories of their own.
Non-science- 3.58, sGPA 3.09, cGPA 3.29
MCAT- 29

ED volunteer hours- 200
Shadowing - 120 hours
Research- past 2 years
Work 35 hours a week during school in pharmacy (4 years).
SI (supplemental instructor)- 2 years/4 semesters
Tutor-Psychology 1 year/ 2 semesters
Other EC's but not as much time/hours invested (i could mention)

I appreciate any thoughts/ suggestions/ experiences ! Thanks!!

Your chances for DO seem pretty solid, especially for the newer schools. Apply broadly, and you should be good. :) I got into 3 DO schools with a 26 MCAT.

pull up that sgpa. retake the classes you did poorly in and take advantage of grade replacement. get it over 3.2/3.3 and you will get in without a problem.

I agree with both. Chances are good in Osteopathic School. You can improve your GPA to improve your chances, however this GPA can do it. EC's look good. I hope you have LOR all the doc's you shadowed and the needed LOR form science professors. Make sure the docs that you shadowed at least one of them is a DO. Good luck.

Apply broadly to low tier programs and all new schools. I would also add a handful of mid tier, and your state school(s)

add these for sure:

-LMU
-WVSOM
-SOMA
-KYCOM
- PNWU
- VCOM -CC
- MUCOM
- CUSOM
- ACOM

Are these general lower tier or are these geared towards this individual?
