I've seen a few threads about joining the military as a pharmacist and figured I'd share my experience with joining the Army. After having gone through the process myself, I've realized there is very limited resources available. Below is a link to an overview I put together to help those interested:

I hope it helps and best of luck!

Thank you for the detailed overview of the process. Did you not have to interview with at least 2 army medical officers during any part of this process? Thanks

No, I was surprised myself, but the the Army does not conduct any interviews.

What do pharmacists do in the army?

A more seasoned pharmacist in the military could probably answer this better than me as I haven't even left for training yet. From my understanding, active duty pharmacists are usually placed in leadership roles (i.e. being in charge of an out/in patient pharmacy). I'd recommend reading about some of the opportunities that military pharmacists have had, pharmacy times had some good bios (http://www.pharmacytimes.com/publications/issue/2014/August2014/2014-Military-Pharmacist-of-the-Year).

i've read that there is up to 120k debt payback and possible signing bonus. since you've been through this can you shine some light on the compensation for loans?

Thanks for posting tcav26. Did you ever post part 2?
