Do you guys fill out these crap? Pt and their families keep asking me to fill out their FMLA and even disability paper. I say NO to disability paper, but FMLA i'm 50 50 on it. What do you think? Should Hospitalists fill out FMLA ?

Not a hospitalist, still a resident, but I just ask SW to fill out the FMLA forms and I sign them.

No way in hell should disability determinations be made as an inpatient. Let the outpatient folks figure it out long-term.

Its not really that hard to fill out, but i have to agree that disability paperwork is primarily an outpatient issue and should NEVER be a inpatient issue. FMLA paperwork on the other should definitely be filled out if asked inpatient.

yeah ok , that's what I thought. I hate these people asking me to fill out their disability paper when they clearly are ok to go back to work.
FMLA is fine
