pediatric orthopedic surgery competitivness?

how competitive is landing a fellowship in pediatric orthopedic surgery? i know pediatric general surgery is very competitive but not sure if that also applies to orthopedics...thanks

It's one of the least competitive fields within ortho, but keep in mind no subspecialty is particularly competitive. There are plenty of solid fellowship spots to go around. If you want to train in a certain subspecialty, you will be able to do so from practically any program in the country. That said, the top fellowships (eg pediatric @ Boston Childrens, Joints @ Rush, Hand @ Union Memorial) will be very competitive in every field.

I am a current peds ortho fellow. And while, what was said above is true, it has certainly become much, much more competitive in the past 3-5 years.
