Can someone name the last molecule that Pfizer labs developed on their own and brought to market?

They don't seem to do much anymore except purchase other manufacturers.

Seems that this merger is being driven by the tax inversion strategy that Pfizer pursued last year with their failed takeover of AstraZeneca.

President Romney would never allow this to happen...

Pfizer doesn't have a drug pipeline that will provide drugs to make up for the lost revenue from their blockbuster drug Lipitor. I was told this by someone high up in industry several years ago. So people were watching to see what Pfizer would do to make up for that. They didn't have enough drugs or good enough drugs in development.

Seems like buying is the way to go. Same w/other companies too like Valeant. Legit strategy. Buy patents, raise the price up.
And drug companies aren't so much doing R&D it seems. They seem more like companies that help to bring drugs already in trials or development to market and pass FDA approval and provide some more research funding to make the drug pass FDA.
