Does anyone have insight as to why placental abruption causes painFUL bleeding - whereas placenta previa causes painLESS bleeding (both occur in 3rd trimester)? This is mentioned on FA pg 582

Painful bleeding with placental abruption because blood is very irritating and causes pain while it's stuck in the uterus. In placenta previa the blood comes straignt out the cervix and doesn't cause ittitation to the uterus because it doesn't get trapped.

in placental previa, its the maternal blood youre losing, pops straight out of the cervix like the above post, and abruption its both fetal and maternal.
